Latest News / PRESIDENT'S REPORT January 2021

I hope you all had a great Christmas and holiday break. I wish you all a Happy New Year from myself and our team. Let’s hope this year brings very little unforeseen surprises for us all.

Our membership is growing and with this we are now looking at ways we can send out information and improve communications. We have started posting your membership packs and for those who have paid, you should also have received an email containing other relevant tools for your business such as PDF’s of our logo, petrol discount application forms and a copy of our Rules. If you have not received this please check your junk or clutter boxes or contact Katrina secretary@nzpdg.org.nz

I’d like to remind you that in being a member of our association you can hook into so many benefits and training opportunities. NZPDGA is about protecting the public and up holding high standards of workmanship. This can only be achieved by ongoing training and education. It is important for our members to keep the correct amount of insurance and have good policies in play when dealing with customers and complaints. Our association is looking at reviewing its policies and procedures so we can help our members where applicable.

I am running another two-day backflow course for IQP registration on the Friday February the 12th and Friday February 19th and our venue is now Chester’s New Lynn for more information on spaces available please ring me 0274 345 096.

It is nearly time to re license with the PDGB. This year there is no requirement for CPD because of Covid-19 last year. As a member however of our association it is a good idea to do some other training courses that keeps your skills sharp.

It was nice to see Colleen Mary Upton recognised for her services to the plumbing industry and women in the New Year’s Honours List. Colleen has been a great spokesperson for women in our trades and has served on many boards for our industry.

To those who also read our News Flush but are not members please look at the great value that our association can offer you because every voice counts. We are looking for new executive board members. This role can really be rewarding and open new doors so don’t hesitate to contact myself or Katrina if you are interested in joining our team.
